Easter Sunday in Kigali: The retreat ended Saturday and some of the international participants of the Bearing Witness Retreat in Rwanda, who stayed longer, visited a Pentecostal Church with, Pauline today. She is a 20 year young woman who is a survivor of the genocide in Murambi (quite rural village) and she still lives there with her mom. Pauline & her mother were with us during entire the retreat. Both survived the horrors of Murambi, which was the site of a massacre of about 50,000 people, during the 1994 Rwandan genocide.. Today, her church in Kigali was joyfully exuberant and very passionate! They welcomed us warmly and invited us to say some words. I spoke a bit about our Peacemaker retreat at Murambi, followed by a retreatant who was a Belgium soldier during the genocide and so full of same, he hadnt spoken about his experiences in 20 years. I must say, Jesus is just alright with me!
