Easter is the celebration of the risen Christ. The evidence surrounding this is agreed upon by the vast majority of scholars as historical, even critical scholars. 1. Jesus died by crucifixion 2. His tomb was found empty 3. Many claimed to have seen the risen Christ afterwards, including skeptics like James the brother of Jesus and Paul, who had been persecuting Christians 4. The origin of the Christian faith So the question is, what do you make of the evidence? All theories fail in some aspect or another to account for all the evidence except for the risen Christ.
