Easy Cream Mushroom Soup Youll notice that nearly all my recipes will have copious amounts of butter, some type of cream, olive oil, etc and start out similarly. The reason for this is that most of the flavor in mushrooms is fat soluble. When these dishes are prepared the flavor of the mushrooms will completely infuse every spoonful. If your concerned with your fat intake, feel free to adjust recipes with healthier oils or lighter creams (half & half, whole milk). On to the recipe! 1 - Sauté a diced yellow onion in half a stick of butter. Season with garlic, thyme, black pepper and a little salt.
