Easy n economical recipe PITA BREAD: Ingredients: 2 cups flour 1 tbsp yeast 1 tbsp baking powder 3 tbsp milk powder 1/3 cup oil 3 tbsp sugar 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp water Method: In a mixer, add everything except the water, mix well. Next add the 3/4 cup of water and mix well, if you feel like the dough is hard, add the remaining 1 tbsp of water, if not then omit the 1 tbsp of water. Knead the dough until it becomes soft but firm, divide the dough into 5 balls or depending on how big or small you want the breads to be, you can either do less than 5 or more. Let the balls rest and puff up. Once puffed up, roll the balls into somewhat thick flat circles. Place a frying pan (preferably a non stick pan) on medium high heat stove, then place one rolled circle and let it cook for a minute or two, once it turns to golden colour, remove the bread with a large spatula and place it in the oven which is turned on to BROIL. I set my oven broil on to high, but make sure to keep an eye as the bread will cook within a matter of seconds. Place the one side cooked bread in the oven withe the cooked side on the rack and the uncooked side up, watch the bread turn to golden colour, as sson the desired colour is reached, remove the bread from the oven. Repeat the cooking process with the remaining uncooked balls. I have to say they are the yummiest and softest breads, they go well with any soups, dishes and even plain with tea. Enjoy!!!
