Eat less, move more. There is no great secret to managing weight and shifting the Christmas pounds. Specialising in sports conditioning means I dont have to deal with weight loss programs but it is still one of the main things people ask me about in the wall especially this time of year. The trick to training for weight loss is intensity, train hard and train fast, long runs have always been marketed as the answer to losing weight when the reality is that short bursts of power like sprints or heavy squats burn a huge amount of energy switching on the fast twitch muscle fibres and fatiguing your body. With this in mind try combining exercises into a no break circuit to create an intense full body workout. Perform 6 circuits of 5 to 7 exercises, each exercise needs to consist of 6 to 10 reps? Rest for 1 minute between circuits and choose exercises that targets the whole body. This video is the first of three to give you some ideas. Train hard, Climb hard!
