Ebola Newsflash: Fox News has just reported that an American physician is currently in an NIH isolation room in Washington, DC. The doctor was treating Ebola infected patients in West Africa when he was apparently exposed. In another prominent exposure case, the Liberian Health Ministers aid was infected and has died from Ebola. In a show of responsibility, the Health Minister has self-imposed a 21 day isolation. It is important to note that being exposed to the deadly virus does not mean that the person will become infected. However, with Ebola deaths now over 3,000 and no potential mass treatment regime announced, proper precautions must be taken. Ebola can be transmitted without the patient being aware of their infectious state. Ebola has an incubation period of 2-21 days.
