Ebola Stats 23 Sept 2014 almost same figures as yesterday: Effected 11775 persons Survivors 397 persons or 22.4% Death 511 persons or 28.8% Top Five Districts same as yesterday Kailahun 529 persons or 29.8% Kenema 417 persons or 23.5% Port Loko 187 persons or 10.5% Western Urban 156 persons or 9.7% Bombali 148 persons or 8.3% Observations: 1. Port Loko has sustained a lead over Western Urban 2. Percentage dead gradually dropping from over 3 to a present 2 in every 10 persons. This is good news! 3. Percentage differential between survivors and dead is steadily reducing from double to single digit (from 7.5 yesterday to 4.4-age points). This is good news. It means that death and survival depend on the individual: accepting and seeking immediate treatment or not as well as the case management by the Ebola teams.
