Ebudalangi MP - Ababu Namwamba - was kept waiting outside yesterday as he sought a one-on-one meeting with Raila at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi. This follows the growing rift between the ODM leader and the Namwamba-led rebel group, which was rumoured to have plotted a break away from ODM during their recent meeting in Mombasa and are also said to have formed a new party by the name ODM - Fresh. Namwamba, who cut short his fully paid holiday by Jubilee luminaries to meet Raila and set the record straight, made his way to Capitol Hill to meet Baba immediately after landing at the JKIA but was kept waiting outside for hours because Raila was not in a hurry to meet him. Reliable sources close to Raila intimated that Jakom declined to pick Namwamba and the ousted Executive Director Magerer’s Lang’at’s calls after they chose to dress him down in the media, and that’s why Namwamba had to come personally to beg Baba. Magerer and Namwamba have tried to call Raila since Saturday but he was reluctant to pick their calls and that’s why he came but Raila was not in a hurry to see him on a short notice due to his busy schedule. However, Raila met Namwamba much later as they sort to mend fences and end the impasse that is threatening to break ODM apart. Communication is a real challenge to Jakom.
