Ecclesiastes 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit - TopicsExpress

Ecclesiastes 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. Man in his carnal wisdom seems to think he can do anything. Then he comes to a realization by lifes experience that he can do nothing. We do all we can to preserve youth. But in the end we realize that age takes its toll on us. We war against growing old but we will never win. It is once appointed to a man to die and then the judgment. The dead know nothing. We will go by way of the grave. As Job said , though the skin worms devour my body , yet in my flesh shall I see God. What do we do to preserve youth? Men will get up each morning and shave so the hair doesnt make us look older. And of course many will wear the trendy clothes and try to fit in with the younger group of people. Many will socialize at the bars and etc. The women will put on a fresh coat of paint to look younger. Even the undertaker , when he prepares the body for entrance to the ground will put the paint to the body to make it look younger. We make preparation for the body but forget about the inner man. The soul needs preparation to meet the maker. Lay up treasure in heaven , where it cannot be corrupted by the hands of man. Believe on the Lord and lean not to your own understanding. His ways are higher than our ways. Our ways are the ways of destruction. The road we travel is straight. Either righteousness to the place that Jesus has prepared or straight down the road of destruction. Strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life and few be there that find it. Jesus is life , he said so. Now wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many be that go in thereat. It is simple to go to hell , then the lake of fire. Just continue on the road , doing evil works, and the rest falls into place. To become the righteousness of God is harder because we have to strive toward perfection. We have to run a race to win. If we continue in righteousness then the world will hate us. The world and the people therein are always trying to convince you that this Jesus thing is just a fad. We have no promise of the next breath. With all that is in me , I will lift up the name of the Lord. What is your choice? Today is the day of salvation. Jesus is coming Written By Orville White
