Economic Rights of Women in Islam A Muslim woman has the privilege to earn money, the right to own property, to enter into legal contracts and to manage all of her assets in any way she pleases. She can run her own business and no one can claim her earnings, including her husband. Islam has also provided a woman the right to inherit from her relatives. The Quran states: islam on Women’s Rights and Duties and Liberation through Islam “There is a share for men and a share for women from what is left by parents and those nearest related, whether the property be small or large – a legal share.” (Quran 4:7)
