Economic liberalization has opened many opportunities for people from small towns in terms of education and jobs.with this liberal policy many maladies have also entered system.Take for example engineering education in Rajasthan,govr. and AICTE granted permissions for new colleges without understanding the requirements with the result that this education has become a joke.Seats in engg. colleges ahave been lying vacant every year for last 3yrs. Same is the case this year, 130 colleges have 62000 seats, for this entrance RPET was conducted, 55000 appeared and 50000 are successful, now couselling is going to start , when candidates are less than number of seats then where is the necessity of entrance. Every yr. seats remain vacant even after 3rd counselling.And in last phase students with B.Sc. degree with phy..-maths are allowed. The whole episode has become a joke,and state govt. is turning a blind eye to it.Both congress and bjp are responsible as colleges were opened in their regime only.Role of AICTE also needs inquiry.And to rub the salt in, there are many pvt. universities in state who are also conducting their own entrance exams. for engineering education.
