Eddie Alvarez talks about the game Knockout By Matthew Roth Eddie Alvarez is pretty disgusted at the game knockout that kids are playing in Philadelphia, PA and New Jersey.... When I was growing up in New Jersey, playing Knockout meant my buddies and I would hangout on the basketball court and shoot hoops. Apparently the times have changed as New Jersey youths are playing a new version of the game that doesnt require a basketball. This new version doesnt actually have anything to do with sports at all. The latest version of knockout is played on the street with the point being to land a one punch knockout. Its actually becoming a bit of concern as there have been cases where a punch has led to a death. Its pretty disgusting. And its starting to spread from Jersey City, where it originated, to other cities on the East Coast like Philadelphia, PA. Bellator Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez grew up in Philadelphia and got his start in mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting in New Jersey. He holds the Tri-State area close to his heart. And he seems pretty pissed off that kids are going around punching random people in the face in hopes of landing the one-hitter quitter. Alvarez is the first professional fighter to speak out about this game and he hopes that his peers will follow his example and make their own videos condemning the kids that think its a fun game to play. I for one commend Alvarez for speaking up about this topic. What about you Maniacs? Is this a game or is it a fancy way to assault random people on the street? youtube
