Eddie Francis Black Greek Life Advocacy | Social Media Awareness for High School & College Students greatblackspeakers/author/eddiefrancis/ Eddie is a Black Greek life and HBCU advocate. He also presents on social media responsibility to high school and college students. Eddie is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he has served as a chapter president on both the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as a campus advisor. He is the Greek life contributor for HBCULifestyle and blogged for the H.O.P.E. Scholarship. Eddie advocates for HBCUs through regular appearances on The HBCU Nation Radio Show and through his P.R. and Marketing in Higher Ed blog. Eddies communication skills have been diverse. Having done radio for 19 years, he became known throughout Southeastern Louisiana as a producer and on-air personality for the talk shows Sunday Journal on WYLD-FM and Real Talk on WQUE-FM. As a full-time speaker with Monsters Making It Count Programs (a division of Monster), he conducted more than 1,250 presentations for over a quarter of a million students and parents in 28 states. He even helped audience relieve tension through laughter during his days as a stand-up comedian. The New Orleans native has presented for such notable institutions and organizations as: Duke University, the U.S. Coast Guard, the University of Texas, the Missouri Bar Association Leadership Academy, Louisiana State University, the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, the Southern Association of Student Councils, Jack & Jill of Americas North Texas Chapter, Tarleton State University, the Jefferson Parish Teen Leadership Program, the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Monsters Diversity Leadership Program, the University of South Alabama, SUNY-New Paltz, and Dillard University. He graduated from the prestigious St. Augustine High School and received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Loyola University New Orleans. In 2000, Eddie was selected as one of New Orleans Magazines 30 People to Watch; and in 2011, he won the Press Club of New Orleans Excellence in Broadcasting Award for Best Radio Entertainment Feature for his interview with Rwandan genocide survivor, Immaculee Ilibagiza.
