Edgar Froese, the founder of Tangerine Dream, has died. I wouldnt know what to write on his influence on Krautrock, COIL, New Age, film scores simply because there is so much. Although it does not say so at Wikipedia, since he was born in Tilsit, East Prussia ( now Sovetsk of the Kaliningrad Oblast) in 1944, he was part of the largest ethnic cleansing in human history, the dispossession of 12 million Volksdeutsch from Eastern Europe, of whom 3 million died during the forced march to Germanys new borders. All I can offer here is a minor cue - but still a great favorite! - to a minor score for a minor movie whose memory is passed along solely by an underground railroad of fans.
