Edible San Diego is looking for several additional members for our advertising sales team. Advertising Sales/Commission Only Media/Culinary Description Edible San Diego, a quarterly magazine, is the only magazine devoted exclusively to local and sustainable food and all related types of businesses in the San Diego area and we are expanding our coverage. The ideal candidate is friendly and outgoing, with a good understanding of the local sustainable food movement in general and how it fits into our diverse community. Sales representatives work independently and must be self-motivated self-starters. The job requires curiosity about our community, creative problem solving and exemplary organizational skills. Good written and verbal communication skills are a must. A strong background in sales is a must with a minimum of two years sales experience, preferably with at least one of them in advertising sales. You must have a car and auto insurance. Must have your own computer. Being able to speak and write in Spanish is a plus. Retired military please apply. This is a commission only position. You will be a subcontractor. Responsibilities • Generate new accounts • Working knowledge of Insightly CRM software, Google docs, and Excel preferred. • Manage new and existing accounts for the life of the contract Obtain signed contract and submit it to the publisher by the deadlines Submit ad materials to publisher (in correct format) by the deadlines Maintain up-to-date sales information using Google docs Keep contacts up to date on Insightly CRM Maintain account relationship • Keep publisher and sales manager apprised of progress throughout sales cycle with weekly report. • Submit names and addresses for complimentary issue mailings. • Attend monthly sales meeting • Be available for sales functions • Assist in identifying new distribution locations Respond by mail only with a cover letter and resume.
