Edit - Spring filled up fast. Ive got a list started for late summer/fall. Im pleased to once again be offering on site consultations for permaculture and homesteading in spring/summer of 2015. Some of you may remember that I did a handful of these consultations last year for free as a way to begin developing the consulting as a product for our farm. Pricing will once again be reduced this year and slots will be limited. The site consultations will consist of a questionnaire to be filled out in advance by you. Once that is done and Ive reviewed the answers I will come out for a 4 hours on site visit. This is your time - we can walk around and discuss or review your own plans. Ive spent 16 years developing my knowledge and experience of gardening, tree care, animal husbandry, old home restoration and repair, water direction/mitigation, small pond installation and maintenance, fencing, flowers, regenerative growing practices, and other topics. I run the Midwest Homesteading and Permaculture and Pastured Pigs communities and have spent enormous amounts of time researching and fact checking for those groups to be sure the information presented is accurate. Ive completed a Permaculture Design Course and taken an advanced course with focus on resilient homestead design. I am eager to help others trying to build this knowledge set and put these skills into practice. If a question comes up that I am unable to answer, I will research the topic and either get you a clear answer or a direction for the appropriate resources depending on the complexity of the issue. I will also provide a customized list of resources recommended by me based on what I learn about your interests, goals, and property. The site consultation is a requirement if you decide you want a full written report/recommendation. Due to the time it takes to produce a quality written report, pricing for that will be determined on a per site basis depending on complexity of the project. These consultations are still a product being developed, and the pricing reflects that. The four hour consultation described above will be $150. If I have to travel more than 30 minutes, there will be a $25 trip fee. If I can combine trips to reduce that I will do so. If the total travel exceeds what I consider to be reasonable Ill let you know and we can discuss how to mitigate that. There are 5 slots available for spring/summer 2015. 3 are already taken. Depending on interest and results from the first 5 I may also offer another set of consultations in fall, so if that timing works better for you let me know. Thank you!
