Editing and analysis of the towed underwater video footage taken - TopicsExpress

Editing and analysis of the towed underwater video footage taken last month for the Lyme Bay Experimental Potting Study is currently underway and were excited to see what marine life has been captured. Conducted by Adam Rees, PhD student at the Marine Institute Plymouth University, the footage makes up a significant part of the Lyme Bay Experimental Potting Study data collection. Last year these cameras were left on the seabed to film for long periods of time in order to capture footage of all mobile organisms present in an area. The pole you can see is a metre in length with a baited cage at the end in order to attract all nearby animals into the field of view. This footage taken last summer on a baited remote underwater video camera shows an inquisitive Conger Eel (Conger conger). Perhaps hell make another appearance this year… watch this space!
