Edition 172 from thepropheticscroll.org Why the coming judgments: Introduction: Introduction: You O Lord are the warrior of all warriors and will soon destroy all who war against Your works! You are the worker of terrors and wonders. The nations heard your voice and quaked in anguish. Dreadful, regret settled over the peoples. (I have been writing some poetry relating to the soon coming tribulation period of late. Those are a few words of it.) As we approach the close of the age, the world is about to run headlong into the judgements of God. The world and most of the church is carrying on as though there are a million tomorrows! Just as in the “days of Noah” they are blind and unprepared. Many will be shaken into repentance and the kingdom of God and many will continue on their path to hell. God’s judgments have been waiting in the wings for nearly 2000 years. They are about to enter centre-stage. Most of the big natural upheavals we have seen in the last 2000 years have not been the direct judgment of God, but natural events. Things are about to change. Approximately four billion people will die in the soon coming tribulation period as a result of the many judgements, that will take many forms. God’s wrath and judgment is actually an aspect of His love and goodness. It is simply the cleansing of the universe of all sin, evil, dirt and unholiness. It is part of the creation of a new world of untold glory righteousness, majesty, peace and holiness forever. Judgement settles everything. There are no arguments after judgement. It is the “final word.” After a rain storm with wind, lightning and thunder there is an air of calm and everything feels and looks nice and clean. God’s judgment is much the same. It is unpleasant at the time, but it produces the goods. What are the coming judgements? In the run-up to the tribulation period we will see forerunners of judgment in the natural world. We will see wars and rumours of wars, but these will be minor compared to what is coming in the tribulation period. When the world moves into the tribulation period, God begins to pour out His wrath in many forms. They include enormous natural disasters, socio-political events, wars, and many supernatural judgments from the skies. At the same time the wrath of Satan and the wrath of man will be in full swing upon the world like never before. The rapture will be one of the biggest judgements ever! It immediately, in less than a split second, judges between who goes and who stays! It is God’s holy choice and decision and will leave behind an air of shock. The coming judgments will result in a massive death toll. The verse below relates to the land of Israel only, but even this is a huge amount. Zechariah 13:8-9 “It shall come to pass in all the land (Israel) says the Lord, that two thirds in it shall be cut off and die, but one third shall be left in it. I will bring one third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’, and each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’” The verse below relates to the death toll for the whole world in the tribulation period. This would be about 4.2 billion people! Revelation 9:15 “So the four angles that had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of all mankind.” Why, why , why? 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 “In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Messiah. These will be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.” Isaiah 13:9-10 “Behold the day of the Lord comes, cruel with both wrath and fierce anger to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners...I will punish the world for its evil.” Ever increasing sin and evil and the rejection of the knowledge of God and His ways are the primary reasons for the coming judgements. The world is flaunting its sin and evil in the face of a long-suffering God, but beware: Genesis 6:3 “The Spirit of God will not strive with man forever.”
