Edmonton Tragedy (called by Wikipedia- 2014 Edmonton killings): I am all for preserving life. But the alleged perpetrators death has prevented an even greater media frenzy. I am pleased that the local media wont have its usual field day in presenting interminable news regarding a painfully long, drawn-out Court case. Psych evaluations determining fitness to stand trial. Examinations regarding the possibility of being found not guilty due to mental disorder. Tears at the Law Courts (months or over a year down the road) if family, friends and the public arent satisfied with Court findings. Cheers at the Law Courts if the sentence is viewed as appropriate. None of which would bring back the lives that were lost. So we are spared sensationalized media coverage of such a Court case. And we are left with thoughts and prayers for the victims, and hopefully some move in the direction of finding strategies which would help prevent such tragedies.
