Eds FB posts are always fun to read. Ive heard so many people complain that others take advantage of the system and freeload off of Government programs. These accusations are counterproductive. They pit us against each other. We need each other to survive. Being poor is not an identity. Its not a state of mind. Its a bump in the long-term journey were all taking. For some, that bump is a hill or a mountain that is seemingly insurmountable. Thats why we help. Out of compassion and love for our fellow human beings. We are all the same anyway. We simply are. We all simply are, so we are no different from those at whom we wag our fingers. I read something once that suggested every human being on earth is actually one person reincarnated and sent back to different places in time and geography. When you help or hurt another person on their journey, you are helping or hurting yourself. Interesting... Something to think about before you decide to pick up that sword and shield and fight the battle to reduce care for those who need the help.
