Eds goodnight goths musical interlude. 25th June Well, an early posting tonight; i have worn myself out with an afternoon of great music and letter writing. Thanks for all the support we continue to get on this long journey to recovery. Spoiled for choice as always but tonights track comes from the more modern era of alternative music after all we have been featuring 70s/80s in the last couple of nights. I have Dominic Void to thank for this, he was the first one to get me into some of the more current industrial/alternative music (Cheers DV, appreciated). It took a while for me to adjust to and unify the compelling individual alternative styles of Old Goth and new EBM/Industrial but once i got my head around it all i became totally immersed in both cultures and saw the gene-pool of music for what it was and truly represented. For me i came to realise that this was simply like a raw mix of some of the 80s industrial ideals combined with the influences of hard core trance of the 90s, and then given the gutsy metal edge that earlier bands like Therapy, Killing Joke, etc had offered. So now i can finally enjoy, appreciate and love not only what i have grown up with, but what i have evolved into. So tonights track comes from MARILYN MANSON; its rare for a cover version ever to better then original, especially one so famous, but for me, I has to say this raw, impassioned vocal tribute is my personal choice as an improvement.
