Education Tuesday Here is a tad bit of information that can help the Trainer and the exerciser. (the pic are all publications and a few I touch base on this info I give here ) When lifting weights think about the order of muscles being used instead just lifting the weight or doing a movement. For example on a rear delt exercise instead of initiating the movement by moving the hands first, which will be a natural action, go in reverse order. Initiate the rhomboids and mid/lower traps first by sliding shoulder blades downward and together. Then think of the back of shoulders pulling back and back of upper arms going back. Like you are stretching your chest and sticking your chest out. Dont think of any part past your elbows. Pretend that part is just part of the machine. It is difficult to coach this in writing but I hope you get it. All in all think of the muscles initiating the movement and not the outer extremities.
