Edward L. ‘Chub’ Burchette CLEARFORK — Edward L. “Chub” Burchette, 74, departed this life Sunday, August 11, 2013. Born February 8, 1939, in Baileysville he was the son of the late Greely and Lucinda Bailey Burchette. Chub worked for U.S. Steel for 34 years as a member of Local Union 1713, and was a bus driver for Wyoming County Board of Education. An avid hunter of any kind of wildlife that was in season he and David took advantage of. They always planned vacations around hunting season. He killed a large Boone Crocket Caribou in Canada on one of his hunting trips. Chub will be sadly missed by his little Jack Russell dog, Rex-An who was his constant companion. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Burchette and Freely “Tom” Burchette. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Deanna Burchette of Clear Fork. They were married on August 4, 1958, by his grandfather Floyd C. Graham. A son, David Keith Burchette and wife, Phyllis of Clear Fork; a brother, Garland Eugene Burchette of Kegley; two sisters, Joyce Miller and Juanita Growe both of Pineville; a sister-in-law, Miriam Burchette; two brother-in-laws, William C. Cook of San Antanio, Texas and Jack D. Cook of Clear Fork; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. A celebration of Chub’s life will be 7 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with Rev. Seth Cline officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton. Those wishing to attend should meet family at the mausoleum on Saturday. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Casketbearers will be family and friends.
