Edward Woehrmeyer (* 1882) worked for the Cincinnati Fire - TopicsExpress

Edward Woehrmeyer (* 1882) worked for the Cincinnati Fire Department, stationed at the 18th Fire Station on Delta Avenue at Eastern Avenue. Edward was driving a team of horses that pulled the pumper. Although there were modern fire trucks in use already, the area Edward had to serve, Mt. Washington with its narrow streets, required a more flexible type of fire truck. So he was in charge of the last horse-pulled fire wagon in town. This I was told by his son William Woehrmeyer (* 1907) from Florida, who came to visit his hometown Cincinnati for his 99th birthday in 2006. He sure was a living history book :-)
