Edwards, Sister Mary Robert, RSM Sister Mary Robert was a Sister of Mercy for 70 years. Sister was born on April 25, 1926 and entered eternal life on November 19, 2014 fortified by the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church. Sister is a native of St. Louis, entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1944 and professed perpetual vows in 1950. She received a bachelors degree in nursing education from St. Marys College in Xavier, KS in 1951 and a masters degree in nursing from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 1957. Sister Mary Robert devoted much of her ministry to serving at St. Johns Hospital/Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Sister ministered as a nurse and nursing supervisor, nursing school director and instructor, instructor in the department of education, surgical unit supervisor, provider of pastoral care and patient family and staff facilitator in the emergency department. Sister is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John J. and Jean Edwards, nephews and niece, Joseph, Michael and Kathleen Edwards, grandnephews and niece, Ian, Andrea, Megan and Kevin Edwards and great-grandniece, Audrina. Services: Welcoming and Sharing of Memories will be on Mon., Nov. 24 at 3:30 pm in the Mercy Center Chapel 2039 North Geyer Road followed by Mass at 6:00 pm. Sister will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. -
