Edwina Booth...after a few supporting roles, MGM prepared her for stardom with the lead in Trader Horn. They sent the crew to Africa in 1929 where unfortunately, Edwina contracted malaria. The film premiered in 1931 and was a big hit but It took her six years to recover. Edwina sued the studio and settled out of court. Aside from two short films, one with Laurel and Hardy, and two serials, she never worked in film again after 1932. She died at age 86 in 1991.
