"Eeman-sappers" Have you ever encountered an ‘eeman-sapper’? They are usually chanced upon at dinner table on an important Islamic occasion, such as an occasional iftaar, or at ‘eid? Or, in a living room, sipping on tea and nipping on hob nobs? The quintessential ‘intellectual’ look is necessary for maximum effect. So, what exactly do they do? Negativity is the word. Spreading negativity is the job. These eeman-sappers consider it a moral duty to point out how worthless Muslims are, and how superficial their faith is, and how most of them are only ‘culturally’ Muslim with no real appreciation of their faith, on the happiest and most joyous of islamic occasions. Apparently it is also a biological necessity, because if left unsaid, they are left with the particularly painful dilemma of indigestion. Gesticulating self-loathe is as important as chomping on chicken legs. But, is this really true? Has eeman lost its function and lustre? Has it really become meaningless at a community level? Whenever such a question occurs, it does much and mighty good to look where eeman is most tested and tried. #eeman #life
