Egbon Bola, Pls help me too with this issue. My wife is putting to bed shortly and we always do naming ceremony inside our church. We take our children to our church where the pastor (a woman) does the naming ceremony. When my elder brother heard that our pastor a woman is likely to do the naming ceremony of my first born, he said NEVER! I will not bring abomination into our family. When the matter got our dad in Ogbomosho, (he is a Baptist) he called me on phone and warned me to bring the shamelessness of our pentecostal churches to his family, adding that where on earth have i seen where a woman gave a new born baby names. He said only men, pastors in the church or fathers in the family has the right to name a child. My parents and my elder brothers are now against me. Meanwhile, i am a strong member of my pentecostal church and the church is looking forward to the safe delivery of my wife and the naming ceremony. Our pastor (a woman) comes to my house regularly to pray with us. Now, how can i tell her that she cant do the naming on account of my familys displeasure and discrimination against women on the pulpit. I know you are in a Bible school. Help me Egbon Bola. This is my first child. I dont want any crisis over the baby boy. Please pray with me for safe delivery. My wife says she has no say in this because my family is already against her for dragging me from Baptist church to a Pentecostal church. I dont mind if your friends on Facebook can advise me too. But i dont want anybody to abuse me for following my wife to another church. Already my family sees me as a woman wrapper. Uncle B, i hope you get my drift?
