#Egypt - January 24, 2015 - This woman is Shaima al-Sabbagh, mother of a 5-year old boy. Shaima was killed yesterday by the police during a peaceful demonstration in Cairo, on the eve of the anniversary of the 2011 Egyptian uprising. She was bringing roses in Tahrir Square, the symbol of that cry for freedom... She was bringing roses but she was hit by a gunshot, falling wounded in the arms of her husband. The husband was arrested shortly after. Shaima today is the most apparent victim of a military regime that allows no opposition, that kills shamelessly… yet a regime welcomed and supported by the so called advanced democracies of the world.
