Western powers are more than happy to live with conservative regimes and in my opinion not interested in a democratization process in the region in line with what is happening in South-America. Clientism is trade-mark of many Western powers and the democratization of the region would terminate it or make it difficult to pursue. But the democratization of Egypt and the region is unstoppable, and regimes like those in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Jordan in reality live on borrowed time. The awakening in these countries, particularly in Saudi Arabia is likely to be most violent.
