Egypt has BANNED the film, Exodus. The officials in charge of this - TopicsExpress

Egypt has BANNED the film, Exodus. The officials in charge of this decision say it is because the film depicts the Jews building the pyramids. That is never depicted in the film, by the way, but the pyramids are seen as standing structures in the background of the vast CG shots of the ancient landscape. The author of this BBC article also says that the Book of Exodus in the Bible says that the Jews built the pyramids. Uhhh... what Book of Exodus is HE reading? Cam someone please cite for me the passage in the Bible where it says that the Jews built the pyramids... anyone...? Also, the Egyptian officials said they banned the movie because it depicts the parting of the Red Sea as being the result of an earthquake, NOT a miracle at the hands of Moses and God. Well, which one is it, Egyptian dudes? The Jews had God working on their behalf by way of miracles or not? That seems to be a tacit admission that God was working in their favor... doesnt it? The bottom line: people dont know what the hell theyre talking about, and obviously banned it prior to watching it. Its political. Cant let those pesky Jews be misrepresented. This is what happens when politics are invoked over a movie about religious legend.
