Egypt is one of the largest buyers of wheat in the world. Ironic given that Egypt was the breadbasket of the Roman Empire. For those that say foreign aid should not exist, remember that Egypt uses US Foreign Aid both direct payments and export credits to purchase wheat. The next serious issue facing that country is running out of dollar reserves which will make very difficult for the country to import the petro fuel and wheat the people need. As Julius Casear learned 2100 years ago, a tryant needs to feed the mob to control the mob.
