Egypt plans to prosecute columnist فاطمة ناعوت Fatima Naoot for insulting Islam for a Facebook post criticizing the slaughter of animals. Although the nightmare has passed for the prophet [Abraham] and his son, each year helpless animals pay with their lives the price of this sacred nightmare, she posted in October, during the major religious holiday Eid Al-Adha. Prosecutions for such brief social and other digital media postings have been on the rise in Egypt and elsewhere in the world.
