Eid Mubarak to all my sisters and brothers in Seattle, India, Pakistan, and everywhere! It is a joy and privilege to be working alongside activists in the Muslim and immigrant communities in Seattle on issues like minimum wage and transit - issues that adversely affect the working class regardless of our religious persuasions, while this wealthy city benefits the wealthy and the large corporations. I look forward to continuing to build a grassroots momentum to help fight for housing justice, a tax on the wealthy, and to generate a strong voice for those of us who are marginalized - people of color, immigrants, low-income workers.
