Eid al Adha Holidays announced in Oman Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, yesterday issued a decision declaring that Eid al Adha holidays 1434 AH for the employees at the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state apparatus will be from Monday (Dhul-Hajjah 9, 1434 AH), corresponding to October 14 till Thursday (Dhul-Hajjah 12, 1434 AH), corresponding to October 17. Work will resume on Sunday (October 20). Meanwhile, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, issued a ministerial decision stating that Eid al Adha holidays for the private sector will be from Monday (October 14) till Thursday (October 17). Work will resume on Sunday (October 20). The decision allows employers and employees to agree on work arrangements to compensate holidays. The text of the decision reads as follows: “On the occasion of the blessed Eid al Adha 1434 AH, the Eid holidays for employees working at the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state apparatus will be from Monday (October 14) till Thursday (October 17). Work will resume on Sunday (October 20). The minister extended his greetings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos on this blessed occasion, praying to the Almighty Allah to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and a long life and for the return of this and similar occasions on His Majesty for many years to come and the Omani people and our dear country further progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Majesty and all Muslims prosperity and welfare. Meanwhile, all employees in the private sector extended their greetings to His Majesty on this blessed occasion. Praying to the Almighty to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and a long life and for the return of this and similar occasions on His Majesty, the Omani people and all Muslims.
