Eight critical rules are necessary to follow for interpreting the Bible. To follow these rules properly, though, it is imperative that we understand the grammar of the text. The eight rules are: 1. Rule of definition 2. Rule of usage 3. Rule of context 4. Rule of historical background 5. Rule of logic 6. Rule of precedent 7. Rule of unity 8. Rule of inference Of course, the helpful rules will only be properly used by the guidance of Gods Holy Spirit.
