Eileidh is finally out of HDU & up in Medical!!! She was transferred up just over an hour ago :) Today started of poorly. Eileidh has slept for the majority of the day after spiking a temperature of 38.8 again at 8am. She had bloods taken & was given Itraconozole, Aciclovir, Gabapentan, Cotrimoxazole, Paracetamol, Ranitidine, Ondansatron & Tazocin. As her foot was so sore & swollen last night, which was still sore this morning & also had a sore tummy, she was kept on the constant background morphine. Her blood counts were low too so she was given a platelet transfusion & a red blood cell transfusion this afternoon. Since then she has perked up a lot & not been quite as sleepy or grumpy. As her temperature, blood pressure & SATS have been normal since her transfusions & she has not needed any additional pain relief, it was decided that she could go up to Medical tonight & possibly have the morphine changed to Oramorph after her consultant reviews her in the morning. Even though she has had a pretty good day, she hasnt really eaten anything today & hasnt drank very much either so her night feed was started earlier than usual. Fingers crossed her temperature doesnt spike again so we can get home on Monday.....
