Einstein said: “keep it simple but not too simple.” Our representatives and certainly not the public, knows what is buried in the Immigration Reform Bill. The comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill 1190 pages and stuffed with amendments to satisfy every senators’ desires. It includes an amendment to spend $30 billion on enhanced border security but still; The Congressional Budget Office says the legislation would reduce the deficit by $175 billion in the coming decade and by another $700 billion in the following decade. I’m sure we could reduce the bill to a thirty-page document that Senators could actually understand and throw all the special interest exceptions, pork, and legalese in the trash. I will never vote for a bill I cannot fully understand.
