El Conquistador Latino Newspaper to Debut an Entertainment Page Featuring Behind the Scenes Personality Profiles February of 2014, El Conquistador Latino Newspaper is debuting a feature section that will bring Latino entertainment to their readers in new way. In addition to listing Milwaukee’s live Latin music venues, dance and music classes, concerts, nightclub and restaurant events, it will feature entertainment behind the scenes, up close. “Our aim is to keep the reader informed of the Latin entertainment options available in the city, but we also want to engage our readers by having them know our Latino artists and entertainers on a more personal level. This is not only interesting reading, but it benefits everyone, the artist, the venue, and our readership,” says Conquistador Publisher and Editor-In-Chief, Victor Huyke. Christine Almeida, a long time entertainment entrepreneur, and writer for El Conquistador Newspapers, will be profiling the lifestyle and work of Milwaukee’s entertainers from their perspective. She has been in the entertainment industry as a dance teacher, event producer, and a student of Afro-Cuban Percussion studies and has a special connection with Milwaukee’s Latin music scene. “I know what the local Latin entertainment industry has to offer. Our music has a richness, complexity, and depth. The dancers, trained and untrained, bring a certain flavor that is not present or available in other genres,” said Chris. She will write about the motivation that drives an artist, and will teach you about the music that the culture produces. “In our technologically driven environment, personal relationships are more important than ever. The media is the conduit that connects people to artists, events, venues and the entertainment industry in general. I will work to create a bond between the artists, the music and the reader, and provide a guide to the venues that showcase them.” she said.
