El Salvatore, Guatemala, and Honduras. Not Mexico , if that makes a difference. The most violent parts of those countries. We live in the epicenter of these children coming a thousand miles seeking a life free from death squads. It breaks my heart to know that parents were so desperate, that they forced their children to leave their own country. These kids are innocent. Ive seen and heard them. And theyre scared. Yet, I heard a former Vice President decrying that money for the defense department meant to kill people might actually be used to help poor and desperate people. Hes an idiot. If we are the America people love to trot out when telling the world were superior, then well find a way to incorporate those least amongst us. If were so afraid of children with dark skin that we scream for them to be sent back home, God help us. Dont take Congress failure to do something about immigration fall on the shoulders of innocent children. And if you think that closing the border is the answer, PLEASE, PLEASE COME ON DOWN. Ill show you just this small stretch of the desert border. And if you tell me to spend the TENS OF BILLIONS it would take to secure the borders rather than take care of these kids, just unfriend me. Cause I DONT WANT TO HEAR THAT CRAP! If I was a parent in those countries, Id be the worst human alive if I didnt do the same for my children.
