@ElRufai advises Anambra electorate to vote wisely El-Rufai also denounced dissident members of the @APCNig in Anambra. The Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasir El-Rufai, has advised the people of Anambra to vote for the right candidate, during the November 16 governorship election, to uplift the state. He gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Abuja. The APC chieftain described a good leader “as a self-actualised personality who is ready to serve the people and be accountable for his actions”. Mr. El- Rufai commended the people of the state for their warm reception of the party, citing the huge number of people who came out during APC membership registration in the state. “Out of 252,000 members of APC registered in Anambra State, 73,000 of them turned out to vote in the primaries that we held.” The deputy national secretary disagreed with people, calling themselves members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) in the state. “I don’t know about who is an ANPP or CPC in Anambra State, because the moment the parties had their conventions and resolved to merge into APC in July, the old parties ceased to exist. ”So, it is strange to us as leaders of APC, to hear of anybody claiming to be ANPP or CPC leader in Anambra State. “All the people going round making claims that they are members of CPC or ANPP are political mercenaries. You are either a member of APC or you are somewhere else,” he said. Mr. El-Rufai said that the issue of some states disallowing the party to present candidates for local government elections was being handled by lawyers of the party. #PREMIUMTIMES
