Eldon Celtic Bhoys 2-2 Westwood Hoops Eldon battled back from two goals down to grab a draw in a feisty game against a Westwood team belying there position in the table. The Bhoys started like a house on fire with Josh firing against the bar within two minutes and Eldon looked to be in control until two lapses in concentration saw Westwood go two goals up in the 11th and 13th minute. Rather than let the heads drop this seemed to wake up Eldon and within two minutes of going two down Romontae waltzed from the halfway line past three players and slotted home to halve the deficit. Unfortunately two minutes from half time Josh had to come off with an injury to be replaced by Aidan. The second half started with Eldon in the ascendency with lots of possession and drew level when Romantae fired home via a deflection within 90 seconds of the restart. The second half was closely fought with Romontae and Aidan both firing over a couple of chances each a couple of goalmouth scrambles where Owen almost poked home the winner. There was a controversial incident when a shot was saved by Richmond and appeared to cross the line before he dived on the ball but the referee waved away protests and that little bit of luck spurred us on to grab the winner but alas we had to settle for a point which at two down never looked possible at one point. Credit the Bhoys for the character and fight to come back from the dead and some good performances especially from little George who worked hard put in some great crosses and almost scored with a header from the corner and gave the defence a runaround with an outrageous piece of skill which was enough to earn home todays effort award. Effort award George.
