Election awareness observer visits Roing ROING, Mar 10: The awareness observer for the Lok Sabha election in 2-Arunachal East Parliamentary Constituency has visited several polling stations under 43rd Roing Assembly constituency today. While interacting with DEO Shiv Kumar and other administrative officers of the district in DC’s chamber, he called for cent percent polling percentage in the district. He advocated to create awareness among the voters or the general people encouraging them to vote by forming a networks of administrative officers, sector officers involving BLOs and other neutral bodies like Gaon Burahs who has no political lineage for the purpose. He also advised that banners/hoarding and posters should be published and displayed in public places for creating mass awareness about the ethical voting and urged them to come out voluntarily for voting. He further said to organize mass awareness campaign by involving non-political public icon like Tine Mena, the Everester for the purpose. He also personally met the Everester, who had been already identified by the District Administration and requested her to come forward and to create public awareness about ethical voting by organizing mass awareness campaign in various places. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate, Shiv Kumar issued an order citing that the law and order machineries in this district shall launch a special drive to detect persons indulging in making illicit arms and ammunition if any and illicit liquor making factory. If any person is found indulging in such illicit activities/illegal acts, action shall be taken as per the law, it said. It further informed that the district vigil shall be maintained by thorough checking of trucks/lorries and other vehicles from 15 days before the date of poll till the completion of counting of votes and declaration of results to ensure that no undesirable elements or arms and ammunitions are smuggled into from outside and to apprehend them of doing so. If any culprits are apprehended in doing such illegal activities, their arms and ammunitions along with vehicles shall be confiscated, the order said.
