Election race AS we anticipate our national election, I recall my high school literature book, Animal Farm by George Orwell. This was my first encounter of the word coup détat where animals took over a farm and all the propaganda that followed to ensure its success. Years gone by and we seem to be better off with the reduced political parties that have survived the re-registration process. On the bright side, there are seemingly two tunes emanating from our political circles; one from the current government and the other from those that have joined the election race. If the nations interest is genuinely at heart, then why not come under one umbrella coalition now and develop some smart allocation system for contesting candidates to avoid fragmenting votes. Just two choices will do for a small nation. And may I suggest that after the election, a two-verse chorus be composed, verse one on our various political dreams and the next on our political reality. It might be sung more often than our anthem. SEBASTIAN AQULALA Lami fijitimes/story.aspx?item=letters
