Elgin City vs Montrose... Elgin entertain Montrose for a second time this season however they will be without expectant father Paul McMullan as they look top repeat their Ramsdens Cup success in July Mark Nicolson and Paul Millar continue to be absent with knocks as the Borough Briggs side look to build on their first league success against Clyde a fortnight ago with manager Ross Jack saying: “We had to become a more pragmatic side after a disappointing start to the league. It worked as it got us a good draw at Peterhead and a win over Clyde. “Winning breed confidence so we are going in against Montrose on the front foot and looking to get another three points on board.” The Gable Endies include loan signing Gareth Rodger from St Johnstone for the first time since he joined last month to give manager Stuart Garden a fully fit and suspension free squad to choose from. Garden is keen to make amends for the Ramsdens Cup defeat as he explained: “We actually played really well that day especially in the first half but a missed penalty amongst other missed chances cost us. They were better in the second half and we paid a heavy price for not scoring when we were on top. “We have improved since that game and won well at Albion Rovers in our last outing and it would be great to build on that by winning this one.”
