Eli is hanging in there after his mid-cycle chemo. He seems tired. We are ready for some normal routine days after a great holiday. We had been gifted tickets to the Space and Rocket Center, so our family enjoyed that. The youngest three kids had never been, and the rest of us only maybe twice, so that was a lot of fun and something different for us. We had Christmas with Betts (my mom), which was our second Christmas at the assisted living facility. Since Caleb had the flu and the rest of us were iffy, we waited so that we didn’t share. It’s just me and my sister and we are not very picky, nor do we feel obligated or bound to tradition or expectations of others. We are all about the kids for Christmas, and we just do a “1-2-3- GO!” for opening gifts, a kind of free-for-all. It’s always been fun, because no one worries about who gave what and who should be thanked. It’s solely for the kids to have fun, but as they are getting older there is not as much squealing when wrapping is ripped away. We had a New Year’s Day party to show off the pinball machine, but now we are ready to get back to being us. I have a new blog post at stansgotafrog. A friend sent a link to a story about Locks of Love, so I wrote a little about that. Before donating anything to anywhere, look into the org you are helping. Please, remember the families of Alaina and Phoenix, two girls that passed away last week, a 17-month old and a 14-year-old, respectively. Thank you for all that you do! The picture is of Eli under one of the Saturn V rockets.
