Eliane was doing pretty good today, and they were going to give her another infusion of Remicade, but the RN made a mistake and didnt hook it up to the IV, and instead most of it dripped out onto the floor by the bed before she noticed it. Now theyre going to try and get the pharmacy to make up another bag, and its not going to be easy. The GI had to put heavy pressure on them to prepare it because they wanted to do it outpatient, and get the insurance (what insurance?) to approve it. Lots of red tape involved, obviously, because its a very expensive medication. Anyway, hope it all works out. UPDATE!! Good News! I just heard back from Eliane, and she said they are starting the treatment again right now. I guess someone pulled some strings. Considering what the GI went through to get it, we may be witnessing a real miracle that they were able to get it ready so soon! So, Thank you all for your support and prayers! And Thank God it worked out for her to get the infusion so quick!
