Elkhart County is increasing the consequences for making too much noise. In the previous version of the noise ordinance, a judge would decide how much to fine a person. Now, an officer can hand out tickets that increase with each penalty. Another change: Fines collected from the noise ordinance will go into a fund to pay for equipment and training at the Elkhart County Sheriffs Department. What do you think about these changes? Is excessive noise still an issue in Elkhart County?
