Ella Jaz was one of the first people I met upon moving to Silver - TopicsExpress

Ella Jaz was one of the first people I met upon moving to Silver City. She was about 8 years old at the time, a beautiful raven-haired country girl with a fiddle and a couple of goats, who was full of intelligent questions and told me -- intuitively -- that the house I wanted to buy was a good house... you should definitely get that house. Over the past 6 years, out of the corner of my eye, I watched her blossom and grow into one of the brightest young women I have ever had the privilege to know. From her creative involvement with the Monsoon Puppet shows, to her musical talent with the Fiddling Friends and Musical Theater, to having thoughtful conversations in her classrooms at Aldo Leopold, and watching her, just this past year, fight bravely to help preserve the free-flowing Gila. Intelligent, passionate, talented, eloquent with words, and certainly very beautiful, I cannot believe that such a brilliant, young renaissance woman left this world so suddenly, and so soon. Without a doubt, I admired her completely, as I watched her seize every day and opportunity with the kind of bravery and determination that is so rare in young girls, these days. May her memory live on to inspire more to be like her. With much sorrow and love, my dear girl...
