Ellen Shuns Brownie Samukai At RIA Barely few days after the former Roberts International Airport (RIA) controversial Managing Director, Ellen Corkrum released a damaging audio recording against Liberia’s Defense Minister, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf upon arrival at the RIA during the week-end greeted several officials who went to welcome her, but she refused to shake the hand of Minister Brownie Samukai, a trusted confidante in her government. The Liberian leader refusal to greet Minister Samukai who has been selected on several occasions to steer the affairs of the country in her (President Sirleaf’s) absence while on foreign visits, took many officials of government by surprise But Minister Samukai ‘shamefully’ saluted his boss who he recently condemned as “the President loves gossip, I will talk with her about your dismissal, these were the comments from the controversial Defense Minister went he was chatting with the United States Mayor Corkrum who is been indicted by the Unity Party (UP) led government for alleged misapplication of public funding. Recently, Minister Samukai admitted to the secret audio recording against him by his colleague Corkrum who he reportedly recommended to serve as Managing Director for RIA. It can be recalled recent Liberia’s Defense Minister submitted his letter of resignation to the President’s offices, but it was reject. According to an inside source, the Liberian leader rejected the communication on the basis that government is currently vetting the credentials of several individuals prior to the appointment of Liberia’s new Defense Minister, in the wake of the controversial secret recording.
